April 7, 2005 9:00 pm...A quick mention on this weekends racing action throughout the state. Make sure you check the "upcoming race" section for races that are scheduled. Most notabley the NCRA modifieds open their season Friday night at Tulsa Speedway before heading to Wichita Saturday night. The Ford Focus midgets make their season debut at Tulsa Speedway Saturday night along with the OCRS two barrels. Look for more than several out of town midget drivers to make the trip down to Tulsa. Also local Cody Brewer will have his midget in competition there. And the big one is the ASCS Sooner region race at Cowtown Speedway in Fort Worth Texas. If you have never been there, the quarter mile track is a treat and the sprinters always put on a good show there...Now for some quick-hitting tidbits. Larry Neighbors and his Wayne Simmons owned F-5 chassis team will head to Eldora with the WoO...Randy Thomas, driving the Hot chassis modified house car for this area, says he and co-driver Harley Menacher will run SFS almost every Friday night and will travel around on Saturday nights once Elk City Raceway begins their season. Says they are committed to Elk City alot on Saturday nights due to local sponsorship. Speaking of modified chassis house cars, Wichita Falls driver Greg Deatherage is an official dealer for GRT and will have his business logo and link to website here on the front page within the next day or two. And yet D&M chassis out of Lubbock has also made their presence known with their house car in competition at SFS and Lawton last weekend. Look for them to make the trek often until GREG MOORES X-Treme Super Nationals $5000 to win modified race April 30- May 1. Modified hot shoe Ron Jones from up north, who runs D&M chassis, will be in town that weekend. In fact that Friday night before brings out a very interesting developement as the ASCS Sooner region competes at SFS that night. The USA modified will be a support class that night so there could be a ton of out of town modifieds at the track to prepare for the weekend of racing...Speaking of you modifieds at SFS, your cars this year look the best I have seen since the modifieds began running on a weekly basis. There are some dayum good looking cars this year guys and you should be proud, as should the race fans...Speaking of good looking cars, take a look at Travis Scotts super sprinter Friday night as I think it is very perty...Well last Saturday night at the Devils Bowl opener, twelve year old Trey Robb made his injected sprint car debut with a third place finish. And I understand it was no fluke. Heads up guys...Start making plans to tell ALL your friends that next Friday night, April 15th, that everybody who resides in OKC can actually attend something without paying (thanks to IRS deadline-day) as SFS will be hosting O'Reilly free admission night. Help spread the word and pack the place...PLEASE everybody make sure you support the sponsors on this website and let them know you saw their ad here...With this site switching from racercity to another server I now have a stats page for this website and am blown away. Over 2000 hits a day occur with at least 300 people accessing in one day. Thank you all...All for this small tidbit update. Look for SFS results late tomorrow night along with updated point standings in the "forum" section

March 21, 2005 9:45 pm...The "picture page" has been added too with a couple of pictures added with alot more to be added hopefully Tuesday. My apologies to Travis Scott, Lee Jennings and Loyd Clevenger as my disk messed up their car pictures. I have to admit that Travis Scott has the prettiest looking super sprint that I have seen in OKC in a while. David Lee Lamberts champ sprint is my vote for that divisions best while Mark Rozelles modified is tops in that divisions. Can't really decide on the pro stocks and factory stocks. When I get them posted you decide...Glad to hear my buddy Danny Jennings win the ASCS preliminary Friday night and glad to see him double it up on Saturday night. Hearing him talk about his crewmen giving him signals during the race is funny. Listening to him tell how he looked to daddy the final laps when they were closing in on him is also funny. Danny also got lucky on Saturday night as he was passed by a very impressive Darren Stewart, only to have the caution come out and nelegate that pass. You can read all about the weekends races at Devils Bowl in the "forum" section by Lonnie Wheatley...Danny leads by fourteen points over Tony Bruce in the way too early point standings. With Danny not running full-time on the national tour (a shame), Tony and Jan Howard looks to be the early contenders in that deal. Zach Chappell sits fourth but he will split time between ASCS and ARCA this season...Jake Martens currently sits ninth in ASCS national points after a tenth and sixteenth place feature finish during the weekend. Jakes father Paul informs that Jake will run the ASCS national tour and the NCRA 360 tour until the two series have conflicting dates and then they will decide what direction they will head. Jake and Paul will make their first trip to the Memphis area at the end of April in the next scheduled ASCS national tour race at Memphis Motorsports Park and "The Ditch", West Memphis...Prediction, ASCS Brodix rookie of the year contender Tony Bruce Jr. will win at least one, maybe two features this season. He has come along way in two years. Also Natalie Sather should finish strong as she looks like she has her out of control spins figured out as she was fast early, but looked to fall out of the seat as races went along...Saw my buddy Wayne Johnson, who was driving for Mississippi car owner/driver Richard Herring, also numbered #94J, same as Waynes regular Knoxville ride. Wayne informs seventy-six races are scheduled with the FATFRO team with the Knoxville Raceway championship again on the agenda for the third year in a row. Wayne informs even though the three sprints looked impressive last week on hoseheads main page, the team still has along way to go to get ready...Back here locally, talked to Chris Burns during Sundays practice and he informed that he is no longer the driver in the Roger Leesecamp Hooters Pro Cup car. Conflicting details on who is the driver. We have an email sent to them and when we get the announcement on the new driver I will pass it along. Chris says he was able to get thirty practice laps last weekend however. Chris also informs his plans for this year are just as they were last year - both divisions at SFS...Don't forget the Memorial Day weekend $5000 to win modified race at Clinton Speedway, billed as the "Racers Race" are taking early pre-entries. Go the the banner at the top of this page, click and it will take you directly to their website with entry forms available...This Saturday night Oklahoma Sports Park arena in Ada will host the final night of winter racing with lawn mowers, karts and others that are listed in the banner at the top of this website. Go check it out after the races out here at SFS Saturday afternoon. Speaking of which, please pass along to all your friends to come out and make it a day at the racetrack. I am guesstimating 150 cars in the pits...One of Randy Timms' late models has been sold to Greg Barnhart. Gregs plans are to at least get used to the setup and the drive of the late model and then maybe head to Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee on some Friday nights (since they are again running late models weekly). He will also run the late model races out here at the fairgrounds during the year...Please don't forget to support these ads that are on the front page of this website. Please let them know you saw there ad here on tidbits and maybe something good will come out of it. For all of your drivers who are working on getting sponsors and if your close to getting some, please email me as I have an offer for you too that may help out...All for this very small tidbit update. More as we get it and so shall you

March 16, 2005 9:15 pm...The "classified ad" section has been updated and the "upcoming race" section has been added too with all the races scheduled that I have for all the tracks for the month of March. I have the month of Aprils races on paper, just need to post them in that section...First practice session at SFS this past Saturday afternoon was very attended. At least twenty modifieds and about that many sprints were on hand and the factory stocks and pro stocks were well represented too...Larry Neighbors was there in his father in-law owned (Tony Franklin), Wayne Simmons F-5 Chassis sponsored sprinter that Larry will race on Friday nights at SFS. He will also race Simmons' F-5 chassis house car at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday nights...Greg Tyson of Lawton had his new champ sprinter out for practice. The red, white and blue sprinter can be found on the "2005 picture page" of this website. The larger picture can be viewed as soon as I figure out how to have it enlarged when you click the small picture. There are more pictures there and will be more once I get them added. My digital lost battery power so I didn't get all the pictures I wanted taken. That should be taken care of this Sunday afternoon during the final practice session for SFS...The pre-registered list of drivers for the upcoming race season at SFS can be found in the "forum" section... While strolling through the list, I noticed long-time friend Bruce Jennings has a ride in the USA modified division this season, driving the backup car to modified driver Alan Beutler. Bruce will not run the car full-time but looks to be in the car in the three big money paying modified shows at the fairgrounds during the season. To my knowledge it will be Bruces first time ever behind the wheel of a modified...Twelve year old Trey Robb looked real smooth behind the wheel of his super sprinter, that he will race at SFS this season...Another rookie, I believe he is sixteen, is Lee Jennings, son of Shelia Jennings - sister of Ricky and Bruce. Lee had trouble getting his sprinter fired while I was there but should be back out there Sunday for hopefully a full day of practice...Spoke to Robert Sellers who informed that the Air Force will be the new sponsor for Robert this season in his super sprinter. Robert is a recruiter for Air Force so if your interested in joining, please contact him. Look for more information on this as soon as him and I make contact with each other...Seeing Randy Timms' late model during hot laps makes me wish our pro stocks would make the switch to a full-fledge late model...The Daily Oklahoman has hired Scott Sharp back to cover the racing here at the fairgrounds for the paper for this season. Scott held this position back in 2002. I will still be doing the press work to local area papers and the trade-internet racing press... I believe the average car count the past two Friday nights in the modified division at Tulsa Speedway is thirty. Several OKC area drivers have made the tow up the turnpike as has several Enid area drivers...This weekends racing highlights include the annual Bud-Kegger at Tri-State Speedway in Fort Smith. The TEMS modifieds will also be on hand. If you would like more information on this race or the TEMS (economy modifieds), check out the Cyclone Chassis ad on this page. Weekly racing also continues at Tulsa Speedway on Friday night while Creek County Speedway opens their 2005 season Saturday night. This will give you champ sprint drivers a chance to race if you would like...Saturday will see practice at Oklahoma Sports Park, Salina Highbanks, Outlaw Motor Speedway, Port City Raceway and Altus Speedway. Sundays practices are scheduled for 81 Speedway in Wichita and OKC. But the big deal this weekend is the 32nd annual Spring Nationals at Devils Bowl Speedway. It will be the national tour opener for the ASCS. The USA modifieds, late models and street stocks will also be in action both nights. Racing both nights start at 8:00 PM. Hope to see you there one of those two nights...No other news I can think of at this point. PLEASE make sure you check out the sponsors on this website and check out their site while your at it. Shoot them an email and thank them for being a part of "oklahomatidbits.com." All for this update, more tidibts later.

March 2, 2005 9:50 pm...The "classified ad" section has been added too with a modified motor for sale from Randy Timms, a mini stock that is for sale and a 'wanted' post in the modified section as midget driver Edwin Wilson is searching for a part-time modified ride for 2005...Also the "2005 picture page" has been added to with a couple of photos...Would like to welcome Brodix Heads to the list of tidbits sponsors for this year. Due to the fact that they are now involved with the NCRA 360 and late model series, we here at tidbits has decided to have their info here for accepting my proposal for NCRA. Speaking of all the ads on this site, please support all these businesses here off to my left as they are what help make this site worthwhile...Scheduling sprint car races in this surrounding area seems to be a mess. In August especially, here is what we have: On August 15 the wingless Sprint Bandits are at Nebraska Raceway Park while on the 16-17 the All Star Circuit of Champions are SUPPOSIDLY at Junction Motor Speedway in Nebraska. On the 17th the wingless bandits are here in OKC while the NCRA 360 speedweeks start at Mid-Nebraska Speedway the same night. On the 18th the wingless bandits are in Tulsa while the second stop of the NCRA speedweeks tour finds them at Wichita. On the 19-20 the bandits will be in Kansas City at Lakeside Speedway while speedweeks continue in Salina on the 20th and Wakeeney on the 21st. That week I am planning on taking my vacation so that week is so readily planned. This will be the first time I have been able to take that week after the KNoxville Nationals off (did from 1994-2002)since I got the boot at Neighbors Coffee. I am rather pumped even more about this week of vacation/racing...But scheduling conflicts aren't quite over. June 17th and 18th already had the NCRA 360s at Dodge City Raceway Park but this past week ASCS wants the date and has scheduled it for their national, sooner and rocky mountain region. Somebody seems to have got to give - including the promoter - but do they? Why not have the first night sanctioned by either ASCS or NCRA and the next night the other sanctioning body. The scheduled Liberal NCRA race for that following night looks to be in jeopordy as it could be moved but no official word as we speak...Tulsa Speedway opens their weekly Friday night season this Friday night featuring modifieds, factory stocks, mini stocks and the like. Racing starts at 7:00 pm. For a list of other happenings for March, make sure you check out the "upcoming race" section of this website. I have more information for tracks to add and they will be added shortly...This weekend I will be at the dirt track at Texas Motor Speedway for the modified and SUPR late model races. Depending on my sons baseball tournament schedule in Del City, I will either go Friday night or Saturday night or then again I could just say to heck with it all and be there for both nights. I am on VACATION ALL next week so doesn't matter how late my weekend is. Since I am off and will be looking for something to do, email me if you would like for me to come out with my digital and take a picture of your racecar for this tidbits page...Look for OU Associate Athletics Director/ Communications Kenny Mossman to do some hotlapping in Kenny Butler Jrs sprint car during SFS first practice session...All this small tidbits for this update, more soon

February 10, 2005 8:25 pm...The "classified ad" section has been updated with a couple of trailers for sale and a pro stock by Leta Patterson. Leta informs her mother had a stroke and her time is now devoted to taking care of her mother. Please keep Leta in your thoughts and prayers...Also the "drivers plans for 2005 has been added too as has the "past SFS champions page. Check them all out. Also please make sure you visit the websites of all the sponsors here on this page. The Big Worm website has lots of cool looking race shirts so make sure you give them a look...If the weather is not too nasty, I am leaning towards going to Ada for the indoor races featuring Quads, Karts, Motorcycles and lawnmowers. Maybe some of you who try to race cars and found lawnmowers alot easier to drive ought to take your mower down there Saturday night. That was a joke, don't take it serious - although David Jones might agree with me...This weekend is also the Fast 50 for Modifieds down at Cowtown Speedway in Fort Worth. If weather was going to be half way decent I would make the jaunt down there but I am not too enthused about driving in the rain...If anybody has thoughts or ideas on how to make tons of copies fairly cheap of the SFS schedule, please email me. I have talked to O'Reilly District Store manager Doug Bragg who says he would be glad to have the scheduels readily available on the counters at all O'Reilly Auto Parts stores. Can any of you drivers or business owners have the schedules available at your place of business too to help in form the public? Really not much of any news so to speak as all is quiet. I am sure after Daytona next weekend that business will be picking up so until closer to that time, that is all for now. More later

February 2, 2005 11:05 am...The "Oklahoma Track Directory" section has been updated with the link to the track schedules for Creek County Speedway and Lawton Speedway now available. All you have to do is click the class of cars that said track runs and it will take you right to their schedule. To go directly to the tracks website, click the link of the city the track is located and it will take you there. Back to Creek Countys schedule, despite Tulsa Speedway now running champ sprints almost weekly, Creek will continue running the same division. As one driver pointed out to me, the big money guys like Goodman, Walker, etc. will taking up the top four or five feature positions there so why not head to Creek County where you get the chance to win a feature and make a little more money...After talking to Lanny and Beverly Edwards on Sunday and they informed that Cory Kruseman and Dave Darland will be at the wingless Sprint Bandit at SFS on Wednesday August 17. They are also trying to get Sammy Swindell to run wingless that weekend too...Marcus Jackson is building an OKC motor and will run at SFS on Friday nights while competing at 81 Speedway in Wichita on Saturday nights for Kansas car owner Michael Thompson. Thompson is also buidling an ASCS type motor to run some NCRA 360 sprint races with Marcus...A brief break from racing news, how about that three inches of snow we got this morning. Wow...Several have emailed concerning practice days in Februrary at tracks here in Oklahoma. The only track that I am aware of is Tulsa Speedway as their practice dates are February 19 and the 26. Too early for racing you think? Well I believe it is in Crandall Texas the there is a big modified show this weekend which I will more than likely be heading too Saturday night. To find out the race schedules, as I have them, for the month of February, check out the "upcoming race" section. I hope to be updating that sometime today...The NCRA 360 speedweek dates have been changed. They include five straight days of racing begining on Wednesday night, August 17 at Mid-Nebraska Speedway, then Thursday at Wichita, then Dodge City, Salina (KS) and wind up on a Sunday night in Wakeeney Kansas. I will have to redo my vacation time but I am still planning on attending that weeks events...Speaking of NCRA, their website has gone through some changes and the schedules for all three divisions have been updated. Check out John Rittenoures revamped NCRA website at www.ncraracing.org...Would like to welcome the two new ad sponsors to this website. Syclone Race Cars out of Haskell builds modifieds and limited modifieds and is instrumental on the TEMS limited modified/economy modified series. Check out their website for all your modified needs and please let them know you saw their ad here. There Stanley Reed and Ritchie, something besides sprint car ads. hehe. Also would like to welcome Big Worm Motorsports and their ad here on tidbits. Big Worm Motorsports deals in Dirt Track Graphix and clothing. Check out that website by clicking on the ad here on this page and especially check out the race shirts. There are some rather amusing sayings on some of the shirts and I hope you purchase some shirts from him. Please let him know you saw the ad here on tidbits. Don't forget all the other ad sponsors for this site. Sprint car guys please buy your wings from Lightning Wings and parts/chassis you may need from Brandon Rogers' Sprint Car Exchange. All you drivers need your chassis powder coated so give Bruce Jennings a call. You may need some lettering and numbers for your car so give Greg Moore at Victory Lane a call. Your interested in starting your own website or you have one and need some graphics done? Check out the website for Scream Graphics and give them a call as they do all the banners and ads here on tidbits...The dates for the fifth annual Ryan Craighead Memorial have been changed and will now be held April 1-2...Practice dates for the new and revamped Lawton Speedway will be Sunday afternoon March 27 from noon til 5 and Thursday night March 31 from 6 pm til 9 pm...Received an email from a former employee which backed my finding that it looks as if Franklin (Meeker) Speedway is now no longer. Phone calls and emails from me and this person have gone unanswered and to my knowledge there was never even a banquet for the season that past. I personally like the track but it just amazes me that nobody has seemed to make that track succeed in the twenty years it has been around...If your a business and would like to get involved in a known sponsorship type investment, I am currently looking for a $1000 sponsor for this years NCRA late model rookie of the year. The rookie honors would be known as your company or business so if your interested in climbing aboard please shoot me an email. In fact, if you would like to do the same with an of the three NCRA divisions please let me know...No other news on this update. I should be going to the SFS office Friday and when I do I will get the updated registration/entry list for this season at SFS and when I do I will post in the "forum" section. Thanks to all the emails with the compliments on this website and thanks to all of you for supporting this site which believe is enterings its sixth year...Take care all and more soon

January 21, 2005 10:30 pm...The "classified ad" section, the "drivers plans for 2005" section, the "SFS past champions" page, the "Oklahoma Track Directory" with schedules have all been updated and added too...Also the GRT Topless Modified $7000 to win, $700 to start race at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock is now the going to be held March 11-12. If you would like an entry form for this event, please email me and I will email it to you asap...If you would like to buy an ad for this 2005 racing season, please email me with details...All you booster club members, if ya'll want to do a car show for SFS somebody needs to take charge and get something set up so we can get it going in February and let the public see and know what is going on...Back to the track schedules, make sure refresh each tracks schedule page as there has been some updates...I hope to see alot of you Saturday at the trade show/auction here in OKC. C-YA!!!

January 13, 2005 8:50 pm...The "Drivers plans for 2005" page has been added to. Also the "Oklahoma Track Directory" section now has Tulsa Speedways Friday and Saturday night schedule on there and on the "upcoming race" section you can find the OCRS, ASCS National and Sooner region and NCRA 360, late model and modified schedules down at the bottem of those pages...I understand that the NCRA 360 sprints will pay $2000 to win and $300 to start the features while the late model and modified pays are also raised for the 2005 race season. There are several $3000 to win 360 races on the NCRA schedule, including the season opener at Wichita and the NCRA speedweek, which I understand is already getting lots of attention by several car owners and drivers...And lastly I want to thank NCRA president C Ray Hall, Warren Hardy and Mylisa Powers for their presentation plaque they had made for me at the NCRA banquet for helping them out this past season. I was unable to make the annual banquet but they mailed it to me and got it today. I know several of them are frequent viewers of tidbits so again, thank you NCRA for the very beautiful plaque and look forward to helping out with the series again in 2005. Especially the NCRA 360 speedweek in August as I am now planning my vacation accordingly...All for this very small update, more soon

January 10, 2005 9:10 pm...The "classified ad" section has been added too with lots of modified stuff for sale and a picture to go along with an open trailer that is for sale. Check it out!!!Would like to welcome Syclone Race Cars as a new advertiser here on tidbits. Their ad and like to their website is located here on the front page of this website so please go check it out and let them know you saw their ad here on tidbits...As hinted here a couple of weeks ago and finally became public this past Saturday afternoon at the NCRA banquet in Tulsa, the NCRA will not have a 410 outlaw sprint division for the 2005 race season. Lack of tracks interested in scheduling and support are the reasons. This will be the first time since NCRA adopted the outlaw sprint car rules back in 1988 that there will not be a 410 sprint class. This comes one week after it was announced that the Sprint Bandits will take a year or two hiatus from competition which leads the 360 sprints as the division of choice. The NCRA 360 division will allow the ASCS type rules for 2005 with big wings being mandatory but if you run an ASCS motor you will have to add 70 lb weight to your front end. The NCRA has several $3000 to win shows for the 360s this season. They include the season opener at 81 Speedway in Wichita on May 8th and all the following NCRA 360 speedweek races to be held August 17-20 at Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Doniphan, Wakeeney Speedway, 81 Speedway and Salina (KS) Speedway. This speedweek looks to take the place of the annual "Thunder Through the Plains" tour with the All-Star Circuit of Champions which had been held during this time every year since 1995. Times they are a changin I guess. You can find the complete and tentative (more dates to be added) NCRA schedule for NCRA 360s, NCRA modifieds and NCRA late models by clicking on the series banner in the "upcoming race" section of this website or by accessing the NCRA website at www.ncraracing.org...Don't forget one week from this weekend is the Greg Deatherages annual Oklahoma City trade show and auction. For more booth or event information check out the banner on the front page of this website - here up top...All for now, more later.

January 2, 2005 8:40 pm...The "classified ad" section has been added too several times with cars, parts and trailers that you maybe interested in. Don't forget not only to check here in the classified ad section for what your needing but also the annual OKC trade show and auction two weeks from yesterday (Saturday). If your wanting a booth or want more information, contact Greg Deatherage by clicking the banner at the top of this website...Also the "Oklahoma Track Directory" page has been updated with new logos and links to new websites for several Oklahoma area sanctioning bodies - including the WoO sprinters. You modified drivers check out the Touring E-Mod Series (TEMS) logo, click on that and check out their rules and race schedule for the upcoming 2005 race season. The TEMS features guarentee feature starters $50 with a $10 entry fee. Tracks on this years schedule are Tri-State Speedway in Fort Smith, Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee, Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina OK, Thunder Valley Speedway in Fayetteville AR and Crawford County Speedway in Van Buren AR. For more information on this e-mod series contact Sonny (918) 482-3019 or email them at sales@cycloneracecars.com. Also located on the page is the new OCRS revamped website...The "Upcoming race" page has the WoO schedule and TEMS schedule located there by clicking on their respective logos...And finally the "Drivers plans for 2005" section has been added to with Strike Hill, Kenny Butler Jr and Sr and Larry Neighbors plans. It was mentioned here and elsewhere that Kenneth Walker would be the new driver of the Hill/Lymon Racing team sprinter but that has become untrue. Car owner Duke Hill emails to inform that son Strike will still be aboard the Lymon Racing team sprinter for sure. He and Kenneth Walker were talking about Kenneth being added on as a team car with Strike but both schedules couldn't be worked out so Kenneth will run his own deal for this year. Duke is in hopes something will materialize later in the season...Nick Newton owns the cars that Jeff Taft (super sprint) and Terry DeVeny (champ sprint) will be competing in for 2005 at SFS with DeVenys being powered by Larry Allen. For those who don't know, Nick is Terrys nephew as Terrys father John raced at the fairgrounds many moons ago. Following in Johns footsteps have been Bill McAfee (Nicks dad and Terrys older brother), then Terry and then Nick Newton. Got that straight? Think I did but definately found it interesting. Thank you Kristi Touboulie for that information...I had heard a little tidbit that Enid Motor Speedway will run no specials this season except for the annual Street Stock Shootout deal. I am trying to get confirmation on that as we speak...The ASCS Gulf South region schedule has been unofficially released (I don't consider it official until Lonnie makes a release on it) and here are some dates close to you fellow Oklahoma sprint car drivers and those of you from the North Texas area tuning in. Here are the dates of importance: After a two year absence, April 2 at Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore which is combined with the national tour, July 15th at Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco, July 16th at Devils Bowl which is the third annual Gulf South/Sooner region challenge race and September 16th back at Heart O' Texas. Cowtown Speedway has three ASCS races scheduled this year. They are April 19th as a Sooner region race, May 28th as a National tour race and September 24th which is a Sooner region show...Belleville has the NCRA late models and modifieds on July 3 and September 4 and the NCRA 360s on July 26th...As I mentioned a week or so ago in the "forum section" the Sprint Bandits will be put on hold until either 2006 or 2007...Sunday seats remain for Eddie Martins seminar that will be held in three weeks. If your interested in going to the seminar and learning lots about set-ups on other racing related information, check out the banner at the top of this website for more information. Seats are going fast so sign up quick...All the damage I can think of for this update, more later

December 26, 2004 12:00 pm...The "drivers plans for 2005" section has been updated. If you know your exact plans for the 2005 race season please email them to me as soon as possible so I can get them posted and keep track of them too myself. This is for any track or racing organization that your planning on competing...Also the "Oklahoma Track Directory" section has been updated with track schedules for Outlaw Motor Speedway, Tri-State Speedway, Elk City Motor Speedway, Altus Speedway and Clinton Speedway. Promoters, if you have your schedules complete please email me the link to them...Also the "upcoming race" section has been updated with the tentative list of races scheduled for the months of January - April. More will be added once schedules are complete. This will include all special races and weekly shows so check it out and plan your racing accordingly. The bigger special races that have flyers for information and entry forms also have links to those flyers so if your a driver go check it out too...The Tulsa based OCRS has a newly formed website up and running maintained by the incredible webmaster himself -John Rittenoure. John also does the NCRA and Tulsa Speedway websites and is good at what he does. Make sure you check out those websites. And yes sprint car fans, ASCS type sprints and OCRS sprints will run weekly at Tulsa Speedway for 2005 under the guidence Barry Grabel and Tom Sewell. The two have also bought out OCRS from Kenneth Walker - who will go back to racing, reportedly driving for Duke Hill in replace of Spike. The series will try to maintain their schedule at Tulsa Speedway...Just two short weeks until the famour Chili Bowl midget nationals and the release of all ASCS schedules and NCRA schedules...Don't forget next weekends 20th annual Tulsa Shootout as I won't forget it and am planning on attending...More race information as time permits. Don't forget to support this sites sponsors and don't forget to attend any of those events that are currently on banners at the top of this page...All for now, more soon

December 12, 2004 8:00 pm...The "classified ad section has been updated and added too and alive and kicking so check it out! December 2, 2004 9:50 pm...The "classified ad" section has been updated with two barrel sprint car motors for sale along with other items. Also, the big modified/late model dates for SFS are located in the "forum" section until I put them in the "upcoming race" section. Also Clintons special events for 2005 are also posted in the forum until I can get them directed to the upcoming race section. The flyer for Clintons Modified Open over Memorial Day weekend paying $5000 to win is located at www.clintonmotorsportspark.com. Don't forget this weekends Forth Worth trade show and auction in Fort Worth Texas and then the 17th annual Trade Show, auction and swap meet in Wichita Falls on December 18th. Limited both space is still available so make sure you reserve your spot now and make plans to attend. If SFS/Lawton rule books and schedules are ready, I will have a booth set up there...A tad bit of information. A couple of updates ago I mentioned about Tim Crawley having a ride in a modified for a car owner out of Little Rock. Well it turns out it is more than a modified ride but also late models and sprints. The team has a huge hauler that will carry all three different classes of cars plus spares and will run a variety of races for the 2005 race season. "Racing where the money is at" is what I am told the former two-time ASCS national champion said...Before we close, Perry Robbs son Trey has his new website up and running thanks to OKC based Scream Graphics. It is located at www.treyrobb.com. The twelve year old and four - time I-44 Speedway track champion will compete in the Super Sprint division at SFS for the 2005 race season with Western Flyer as sponsor. Make sure you check out his website and let them know you saw it here on tidbits as it really is a nice looking site...Speaking of Scream Graphics, please make sure you support all the sponsors of this website and tell them you do business with them because you saw their ad here. Lightning Wings, Jennings Coatings, Victory Lane Graphics and Scream Graphics. That is all for now but we will have more soon.

November 22, 2004 4:40 pm...Just a couple of "tidbits" for you here plus some big news on some BIG modified races for both Clinton Speedway and State Fair Speedway for the 2005 season, along with some schedules already completed...Just got off the phone with co-ASCS Sooner region champion Andy Shouse who informs that, despite the rumors, he isn't sure on his plans for the 2005 race season. While it was rumored that he would run the NCRA 360 series, he is not 100% sure at the moment. The only thing that is a definate is that the only type motors he has and will have are ASCS 360 motors and he will either run the ASCS National tour, the ASCS Sooner region again, the NCRA 360s or a variety of all of them...Here are some dates that are confirmed along with some information on some of these big races. March 18-19th the ASCS National tour will open their season at Devils Bowl Speedway in Mesquite Texas. March 26th, as mentioned before, will be the SFS Spring Nationals with all classes in competition. The weekly season will conclude September 4th with the SFS winter nationals scheduled for October 7-8...The first big surprise for SFS will take place as Greg Moore and his Xtreme Promotions LLC. will host the first of two $5000 to win modified races on April 30 - May 1. Nothing definate on the second big $5000 to win modified race at SFS but should be finalized within the next couple of weeks. Greg says he will also have two late model races at the fairgounds with dates TBA. Hopefully it will be the NCRA late models. And then the big kicker and announcement. There will be a $20,000 to win modified race at the fairgrounds sometime in October, with confirmed dates TBA in the next couple of weeks. Again all the above are being promoted by Victory Lane Graphics owner Greg Moore and Xtreme Promotions LLC...Now for the confirmed dates for Altus Speedway and Clinton Speedway. The 2005 Altus Speedway schedule is now available on their website and if you go to the "Oklahoma Track Directory" page, I will have the link to that page in that section, hopefully be tonight. The big specials for Altus include a May 29-30 OK/TX Supertruck Shootout, July 2-3 wil be the Freedom Nationals, and October 28-30 the annual Spooker Nationals. Also to be scheduled is possible ROMOCO Super Late Model Series dates and at least three USLMA late models...The Clinton Speedway schedule looks like this: Oklahoma Modified Open during Memorial Day weekend, Clinton Speedways Summer Nationals over Labor Day weekend, the second annual $20,000 to win Sooner Modified Roundup on September 15-18 and the Clinton Speedway Winter Nationals on November 4-6. There will also be a 200 lap enduro during Thanksgiving weekend of 2005. Also big big news for two barrel sprint drivers and fans. Clinton is in talks with OCRS president Kenneth Walker about a big two barrel sprint nationals at the track during the fourth of July weekend...Other than the before-mentioned NCRA/SUPR late model shootout at SFS on July 4th, that is all the confirmed dates that I am aware of at the present time. I should have these dates posted in the "upcoming race" section before Thanksgiving so you can go there to keep track. Also keep an eye on banners for most of these races located at the top of this page...Now for the third installment of my traveling to and from races. We left off at the end of 1983 but I forgot to mention that during the season at the fairgrounds, there was a trivia contest in the weekly program about the Indy 500. I done alot of research on all those questions and sent three entries in. The winner were drawn during the 1st annual NCRA/USAC silver crown challenge, a race in which Herb Copeland shocked the world and won for the NCRA. Well during the nights races they drew three winners. The Bickles were winners of an AM/FM clock radio while my dad was also a winner of an AM/FM/ clock radio. The big winner would win a 13 inch color television, which shockingly was won by me! Dayum I was happy. The clock radio still works to this day but the color tv puckered out last year...My first year to travel was 1984 and that was the year I met many a driver. While pulling my '77 El Camino classic onto I-40 from Industrial Blvd., I got on my CB radio and was by chance looking for anybody heading to the second NCRA champ car race of the season, this in Muskogee. Upon asking on the cb for anybody heading that way, I recieved an answer from a guy who said yes they were headed there and I was more than welcome to follow. Especially since I didn't know the way. Well come to find out it was none other than Ricky and his wife at the time Carrol Jennings along with a very little and young Danny Jennings. We talked quite a big over the cb until somehow I got lost in the town of Muskogee and had to find that place by myself. I don't remember much about coming home but I was tickled to death that I got to meet a racecar driver. That 1984 season I made every single weekly race at the fairgrounds along with all but three NCRA champ car races. During that summer I quit legion ball but kept going to Oscar Rose, where I quickly wanted out of there. I was into racing, much to my fathers disgust. With a savings account of $5000 and no girlfriend, all that money went to both trying to buy girls to like me and going racing. I spent tons of money that year and was definately in my dad and moms doghouse. But I didn't care, I loved racing. That year I made numorous trips to weekly races at Tulsa, along with the NCRA races, went to Wichita once and Lawton a couple of times. I also made my first ever trip to Devils Bowl Speedway for the winter nationals, all by myself. During the season I had gotten to know the Jennings really really well and while traveling to the tracks that I couldn't drive too, I was invited with Ricky Jennings to tag along to other NCRA races. It was then that Danny and I became really good friends and also the time I got to meet Earnest and Sylvia. Looking back you have to really believe that the Jennings are great - trusting people as, here is a 19yr old that they knew almost nothing about, but yet they were more than glad to have me tag along. For their hospitality at that time, and others, the Jennings' will always have a special place in my heart. There were a couple rainouts when we were out of town but Danny always seemed to have a football nearby so we would play catch in hotel parking lots. We also joked about several Devils Bowl rainouts when we arrived in Mesquite that we just went there to eat at El Chico and go home...There is more to the 1984 season and more of the drivers that I had met that season but I will save that until my next update. One driver I met about three weeks before his broken leg at an NCRA race in Knoxville, another one gave me a huge wall clock which is a picture of his car sideways at Knoxville, along with other drivers that I had met...That is all for this update and if I do not update before Thursday, I want to wish ALL of you a very very safe and Happy Thanksgiving. I mean that to all. Please all take care and as always, watch out for the other guy!!!

November 16, 2004 3:05 pm...The "classified ad" section has been updated with a modified for sale by former SFS track champion Tony Anderson...Also the "drivers plans for 2005" section has been added to with plans for Lawton driver Gregg Tyson...Received an email from friend and I-30 Speedway promoter Tracey Clay who informs that the 2005 version of the big STN for ASCS type sprints will be held October 27-29th. She also mentioned that the annual big Topless Modified race will be moved up a month or two. She asks if you know of any confirmed big modified dates that time of year to let me know so I can let her know so they won't step on any toes...Speaking of Little Rock, two newsworthy tidbits about two long-time Little Rock sprinter car drivers who are like legends to many in that region. Former two-time ASCS National champion Tim Crawley will all but rid of sprint car racing for the 2005 race season as he has inked a deal with car owner Quinton Linn to drive his late model on the MARS late model circuit. That series pays $3000 to win and $500 to start the feature while ASCS pays $2500 to win and $300 to start. Tim won a big late model race in Alabama this past weekend...Friend Lynn Howard of Byhalia Mississippi, who I met while covering ASCS back in 2000 when her son Jan and then Dale the next season ran with the series full-time informs that son Jan will be back again full-time on the ASCS national tour as part of a two car team owned by their local Lee Sowell, whos son will run for RoY honors with ASCS. Her other son Dale will compete around the Memphis area and is looking to run some 410 sprint races, possibly with NCRA. The youngest son Joshua will stick close to home and is awaitng to be a father of a son, the first grandson for the Howards. Best wishes to all the Howards for the 2005 race season and congratulations to Joshua and proud grandma Lynn...Received an email that Robert Sellers is neither in Iraq or Afghanistan but in a country called Uzbekistan (what the hell is that - much less where?) and can not leave the base there. He has been told that he is to return home December 11th. I do extremely hope so...Brian Hansen from Lawton emails and says he is trying to start a small business supporting racers by building cars and doing repairs. He has five years experience in welder-fabricator and has done work on his families cars the whole time. He is also looking into selling used chassis. If your interested in what Brian has to offer, contact him via email smokinironworks@cableone.net. PLEASE, as I always request , help not only Brian out but all the sponsors who are on this website and make sure you tell them you saw their ad here on "tidbits." I ask you give them you enquire about their business before trying somebody elses...All for the tidbits, now time for the next installment of how I got so heavily involved in racing...Back in 1979 while in Junior High at Monroney, I was big-time into baseball. Loved it, ate and drank the sport. During the winter months during gym, I had a bad sprain on my right ankle and tore some ligaments. This caused me to be in a cast for several months as I repeatedly broke the cast. During baseball season that year I again had problems with it and while trying to baby it, badly sprung the left ankle. No problem as I did my best to practice in a cast and tightly wrapped both ankles when cast came off. Upon entering MWC high school, I again ate and drank baseball and still had problems with the ankles, but not near as much. As I had mentioned in last update, I fell in love with racing again at the end of the 1982 race season. My senior year of 1983 found Southwestern (OK) and SW Missouri State sending me scholarships to play baseball so things were looking good for 1983. Problem was I again twisted my right ankle and also was now deeply into dirt track racing, especially my champ dirt cars and sprint cars. I learned of the WoO and studied hard on the drivers, history, etc. until I knew all that I could. My first WoO race was the spring of 1983 at SFS and I loved it. So did Brad Doty as that was his first career WoO feature victory. The months went about, jocking between high school baseball and racing, which I was really in love with at that time. I dated the daughter of a female MWC cop at that time which really found me juggling with my time. During that year rainouts were a norm on weekly Friday night shows but I had this deal where I would go out and wash my 1977 brown El Camino Classic in the rain and several times, the rain stopped and the races would still be on. During those rained out WoO races on the weekend, I was deeply depressed. I would drive in the parking lot of SFS the night before, looking for race rigs and then cruising the local hotels for the same. So depressed was I that I popped in my Don Henleys "Dirty Laundry" cassett and played the two sad songs "Long Way Home" and the other one which name escapes me at the moment. The hardest part of juggling baseball and going to the races was our trip to the regionals in Tulsa at LaFortune Park. While getting ready to exit the turnpike, there I would see the OFIXCO champ car among other Tulsa cars. Gosh I hated that. We would go on to make state but lose to Tulsa Memorial to take state runner-up. You would think racing would be now full-time but I was asked to play legion summer ball - which I did. But going to the races every Friday night at SFS was a definate and didn't miss another Friday night that year. Then came about time to go to Rose State College (back then Oscar Rose) as I all but gave up on baseball, gave up on them scholarships and went to school to become somebody. Well that lasted until 1985 (more on that later) when I quit school because of "burn out. I am paying for it to this day. With school upon us it was also time for OU football, which I had season tickets too. I remember after one game in October, I left there, dropped my dad off at the house and made my first road trip ever to Lawton Speedway for an NCRA champ dirt car race. After finally finding the track, I loved it. That experience traveling got me hooked and was a sign of things to come for not only the 1984 race season but forever it seems. My next installment will be about meeting my first ever race car driver over a CB radio and how that driver and his family has become very dear to my heart even today...All for now, more later

November 9, 2004 5:35 pm...The "classified ad" section has been updated with more stuff for sale that people are needing to sel. Remember if you have something your wanting to sell or if your looking for something to buy, shoot me an email with the details. Doesn't matter what it is and remember you can post in the forum but I inform other message boards about ONLY those ads that are placed in the "classified ad" section. Also remember if you want to have a picture along with the item(s) that your selling, we can do that too. All I ask is that you help me out for taking the time to do that...Also the "history past champions of SFS" page has been added too...I have deleted all pictures from the season past 2004 and now am able to post your picture on the 2005 picture page of your car. If your car is already ready, hell give me some of your money. But seriously when your car is done and you want people to see it now, send me an email of your picture and who you are, what class and where your going to be racing it. Also the "drivers plans for 2005" page is now ready to post your plans for the upcoming race season - which will be 2005...Speaking of which, special events are being planned as we speak and could be a very special event season for both racers and fans. Now you just got to get out and support all of it if/when it happens...Also added is an official press release from Rudeen/Chilcutt Motorsports on Shane Stewart and his upcoming trip down under...Really no news to break or to speak of as all is rather quiet as everybody is busy making their plans and figuring out what plans to make. With this said, begining this update I will begin posting a little bit of my history as a race fan. This will be along the basis of how my columns appeared from 1995 - 1997 in the now defunct Sprint Car News based out of PA with my column intitled "Oklahoma Tidbits." While you may or may not like what I have to write or figure "who cares" or it may be boring. Back when I had that column I had alot of people who told me they enjoyed my writings back then as it made for entertaining reading. Plus it gave the readers a chance to know me - the race fan - who is just like you. Enough already, let's get started...Born in Ashstabula Ohio back in 1965 and moved here to Midwest City in 1969 as my father was born and grew up in Nicoma Park. We started going to the races back during that year and while not each and every week, we made plenty of races - to which my programs can attest. One night after the races there was a movie about Richard Petty. During that movie I told my dad that when I race I would have STP as my sponsor along with Thomas Concrete and American Crane, my fathers employer at that time. All he done was smoke on his cigar and said "yeah, okay." My first love of one of them open wheeled cars was a number 161 (if I recall) of Danny York. For some reason I liked that car and was my favorite. Then on the night that Harold Leep and Wayne Cox had their run in during the '69 season, I had my imaginary friend with me (Charlie). Well during all that bru-haha, I went to hysterics yelling out loud "CHARLIES DEAD CHARLIES DEAD!!!" Upon being embarressed along with the rowdyness of the crowd during the accident, we abruptly left. During the next several years I would beg and plead for my father or anybody else that was driving me and my mom around, to go by Gil Lamberts garage/gas station on Sunnylane Road in Del City. We would also go to Shepard Mall every year when they would host the winter car shows and of course made my weekend. Things, if I recalled, happened during the 1977 season and for some reason my dad quit taking me to the races and instead, bought season tickets to the OKC 89ers every year from 1978 - 1982. When we updated next time, I will tell how I got back into being a race fan thanks in large part to my getting a drivers license and hearing roaring sounds one friday night during an 89er baseball game...All for this update, more soon

October 27, 9:55 pm...A few more news, updates and tidbits that I failed to mention in last nights update...It isn't even November 1st and I am told already fifty entries have been received for Januarys Chili Bowl midget nationals including Kasey Kahne, who is putting together his own team for the chili bowl. Also midget car owner Doc Lehman will be bringing five midgets this year...Spoke to Lanny Edwards last night (Tuesday night) over the phone and asked about the rumor of enlarging the track at Lawton and replacing the guardrail with a cement wall. He informed that is his wish and that he is awaiting information from contractors on cost and the status of how many good working days there would be during the winter to see if the track would be completed in time for the season opener in April. Lanny also informed that playdays and registration for SFS will be March 6th, 13th and 20th with the season opener scheduled for 4:00 pm on March 26th. He is also working on bringing in a national truck and tractor pull series to run the first weekend of the fair and looking to run at least two divisions together during the mid-week of the fair. Example maybe teaming the super sprints, champ sprints and pros and then maybe teaming the pro stocks and modifieds. There are also plans on hosting a demolation derby. Nothing is concrete, much less dates finalized as this is still in the preliminary stage. And on a big note of tidbits, look for a major two - three day race to be scheduled at the track sometime after August...All you drivers who are planning on competing at Lawton Saturday night, if you could please bring candy to pass out to all the kids in the stands at Lawton since it will be observed as trick or treat night. Either they could come down to the pits after the races or maybe you drivers can make the trek up in the stands and pass it out to those kids in costume...Looks like I will be at Lawton Saturday night so that will be your last chance in buying a "oklahomatidbits.com" t-shirt. Look me up if your interested...All for this small tidbit update, more soon I am sure.

October 26, 7:05 pm...The "classified ad" section has been added to with a DW modified for sale from Kansas modified driver Kenny Sweet. Also make sure you check the rest of the classified ad section for anything else you may be looking for. Also, if your looking to buy something, send me what it is (in detail) that your looking for and I will post that also...Remember if you want to put something up for people to bid on, email me the picture and information on that too...The "official press release" section of this website is also updated with an OKC based mIn Motorsports press release concerning sprint car driver Shane Stewart...With Friday nights rainout at Devils Bowl Speedway in Mesquite Texas, everybody knew it would be a rather long night in "BIG D." Instead of heat races being taken care of on Friday night, they were run on Saturday night along with all consis and feature finales, along with a complete program of ASCS national tour sprints and their season finale - using the Sprint Bandit format. Final checkard flag flew at 2:10 AM but at least it was an eventful night...Upon entering the pit area for the first time since 2002, I learned that the WoO race scheduled for Houston was rained out and cancelled. This allowed Jason Sides to drop in an ASCS motor and Daryn Pittman leasing a Landon (Foster) Motorsports ASCS motor for the nights festivities. Jason would go on and make the nights feature finale, only to spin out early in the race while battling for the top five. Daryns evening would end after hotlaps with what appeared to be a blown motor...Forty-nine ASCS sprinters filled the pit area while super sprints totaled twenty-five, twenty-two champ sprints, twenty-eight USA modifieds and twenty-five late models. Probably about the same for the tracks street stock division. Was shocked to see the Don Strawn racing sprint stable in attendence with Gary Flatt and Michelle Decker. Both ran strong all night long and while nothing official, they seem to believe things will stay the same for the 2005 race season...OCRS president Kenneth Walker was aboard the Strike Hill lymon colored champ sprinter and finished seventh in the feature. SFS represented the sprint divisions well with most of the heavy hitters making the trek down to compete against the Devils Bowl regulars with the city dominating the super sprints and champ sprints. Hats off to Daniel Cox, Jason Hilliard and Shawn Bloomquist who represented Oklahoma in the USA modified division along with Tony Osborn representing Oklahoma in the late models. While none of them cracked the top ten in either feature, they were there to compete. If you want to know the complete results from the nights racing, it can be found in the "forum" section of this website...Speaking of the street stock (aka factory stocks) and late models, there are varied opinions in the forum by racers about SFS and Lawton wanting to go to those same Devils Bowl rules. The street stocks (factory stocks) would allow cameros to compete and it is this writers opinion that I think it would be a good idea. Hell, back before the money came, remember wasn't it Randy Golden who competed with a camero every year? Also, the late models didn't go over well at first, according to some locals I talked too, but now that is the tracks strongest division and held a B feature. It is recommended that SFS go to the same late model rules but it seems to be split half and half among drivers on switching. The late models were fun to watch and were very very competitive and as a race fan, I think it would go over great with the race fans here in OKC. The same can be said with these divisions as in the sprint divisions, get a uniformed set of rules. As a long time racer at SFS told me Saturday night, there are ninty-five sprints in this pit area and there are three different types of sprints represented. This is not counting Fort Worths IMCA type sprints or the Wichita based NCRA 360 type sprints just to the north...One final thought on Saturday nights races, watch out for Kevin Swindell. I believe it was a strong (and I do mean strong) seventh place finish this kid had and was real smooth all night. Maybe the Kinser/Swindell representation in sprint car racing is still alive for years to come once Steve and Sammy retire. Kevin and father Sammy will be competing at this weekends Short Track Nationals in Little Rock Arkansas which pays the winner $15,000 with $1700 just to start...I gave this person an apology for remarks and actions I made two years ago and will again do it here without mentioning his name. When things happened at that time I was about done with everything and got on the defensive with him. He is a reader of this site and I again want to say I meant the apology that I made. I know that this is what the Lord wants me to do and I have to admit I was an idiot at that time and hope all can be mended. Again sincere apologies...Along with the STN in Little Rock this weekend, we have the Spooker Nationals in Altus featuring late models, modifieds, super stocks, mini stocks, bombers and hornets (make note of the ad at the top of this page). Also Sunday will be the annual Fall Fling at Creek County Speedway while Saturday night in Lawton will be completion of the Winter Nationals. Also on Saturday night it will be the first indoor event for the 2004 race season at Oklahoma Sports Park Arena in Ada featuring lawn mowers. Again check that ad out at the top of this page for more information. For more race information, please check out the "upcoming race" section of this website...Rumblings about a couple of tracks here in this state and once I get the word I will keep you advised here...All for now, please take care and as always, watch out for the other guy!

October 20, 8:00 pm...The "classified ad" section has been updated with a sprint car from Tulsa for sale, a pure stock from Enid for sale and a trailer from Tulsa for sale. Please go check it out and let them know you saw it here on tidbits...Spoke to long-time friend Greg Stephens, former videographer for the WoO, and he informs that while he didn't plan on selling the tape, he does have last Saturday nights Sprint Bandit finale AND the ASCS Sooner region vs ASCS Gulf South region finale for sale. The tape will cost $10 plus shipping. His camera wasn't working correctly the at first so he missed the first round of Bandit heat races plus the first couple of ASCS heat races. He did, however, get the last ASCS heat along with the second round of Bandit heats and all semis and features. If your interested in purshasing this tape, or any other sprint car OR late model tape, access his website at www.motorsportvideo.com or shoot him an email at motorsportvideo@netzero.com. Trust me, he is a one man videographer and to me is the best in the business. He also informs that he will be at this weekends ASCS national tour finale and Devils Bowl winter nationals so he should be taping those events as well...Back to last friday nights WoO race at SFS. Steve and Sammy proved why they are the best ever in the business and why lapped traffic on our half mile track makes for some very interesting groove choices and drama. The USA modified race on the half mile track was also one of the best with Randy Timms catching Tony Anderson on the last lap to win by a half car length. By the way, hope somebody told the announcer Reid that they raced on the half mile track, not five-eighths...For those of you who went to Wichita for the next nights WoO race probably remember newly crowned NCRA 360 champion Mike Woodruff take a nasty ride. He is recovering nicely and is getting a midget ready for the Chili Bowl midget nationals, which is right around the corner...Shame shame shame on you two barrel sprint guys. Only three SFS drivers made the trip this past weekend to Enid for the OCRS race during the Enid winter nationals. They were Jeff Garnett, Strike Hill and James Fabian...Now for the breaking news involving one of our sprint car drivers. I was emailed today by Roger Leesekamp and just got off the phone with Kim Leesekamp and they have informed me that one of the hottest up and coming sprint car drivers, Chris Burns, is going Hooters Pro Cup North racing for 2005. The team will compete for the series rookie of the year honors with James Overhead Door as the sponsor. This will be Chris' first endeavor in pavement racing and the team is making plans to do some asphault testing soon. I am awaiting a return call from Chris and will have more on this situation soon. Good luck to you Chris but we are going to miss you...This weekend sees lots of racing action for the end of the season. This weekends racing includes the following: Halloween Classic at Lake Country Speedway in Ardmore, 25th Annual Spooker Nationals at Tri-State Speedway in Fort Smith, the Devils Bowl winter nationals featuring the ASCS national tour finale along with super sprints, champ sprints, street stocks, late models and modifieds, and the NCRA/MLRA/TORA late model challenge race at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee. For more information on these races and more, please check out the "upcoming race" section of this website...Also, if you haven't read the "forum" section, Lou Franklin, owner and promoter of Franklin Motor Speedway in Meeker, posted that the 2004 racing season is over. Banquet information will be posted soon...Hope you noticed the three new upcoming race banners at the top of this page. They are Altus Speedways Spooker Nationals, Clinton Speedways Winter Nationals and the indoor racing schedule and classes for the Oklahoma Sports Park arena in Ada. Check them out!!!Lots of races happening to end the season and hope you get out and get your racing fix...PLEASE don't forget to support the sponsors of this website, which is located here on the lefthand side. Make sure you please tell them you saw it here on tidbits...All for this small update. See you somewhere this weekend. Take care and as always, watch out for the other guy!!!

October 11, 5:35 pm...The "classified ad" section has been updated with a pro stock for sale but could be classified as some other type of full-bodied race car as it raced in Enids recent $10,000 to win race and in Tulsa...Also the "upcoming race" section has been redone and added too with the rest of the special races for this season added with links to information on some of those races available for you to view. Check out that information and plan your racing accordingly. Among the specials this week is the WoO race at SFS on Friday night and then at 81 Speedway on Saturday night: The Sprint Bandits and ASCS Sooner region vs ASCS Gulf South region challenge finale at Devils Bowl Speedway on Saturday night only: A $5000 to win Super Stock shootout at Tri-State Speedway in Pocola Oklahoma on Friday and Saturday night: The finale of the Oklahoma Dirt Championship in Ada on Saturday night - which was rained out Saturday night: Enids Winter Nationals this Friday - Sunday. Also Tuesday night will see the makeup race for the OCRS sprinters at Creek County Speedway in Kellyville begining at 7:00 PM. There were thirty-three cars there Saturday night and four heat races were completed before the rains came there...Look for Wayne Johnson and his FATFRO racing team to compete with the WoO Friday night at SFS and then head south to Devils Bowl Speedway on Saturday night for the Sprint Bandit race...Darren Pittman and Lawton area car owner Donnie Woodburn will reportedly split after this season with Pittman running the full WoO tour with his Austrailia car owner - whom he drives for during the winter down under. Woodburn and Joe Gaerte, who has been helping the team, are said to be interested in Nebraskas Billy Alley...Missouri sprint car driver Jessie Hockett has left the Wright One Construction sprinter #35 as of Saturday nights WoO race in Illinios. No replacement driver has been named. If I recall correctly the Wright Construction team is based in Ponca City...Danny Lasoski will lose Home Depot after this season but has picked up a major sponsor in BASS Pro Shops...RUMBLINGS I am hearing is a thirty race schedule on paper for the Sprint Bandits for 2005 with half being winged and the other half being - non-winged...Waiting on a return call from Larry Neighbors but am told that he and Butch Roberts will team again next year and run with ASCS and the non-wing USAC races along with USAC Silver Crown...Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada are leaning towards combining their factory stocks and street stocks for 2005. Also Oklahoma Sports Park Arena, adjacent to the racetrack, will begin hosting indoor racing on October 30th. Divisions will include quads, karts, motorcycles and the ever popular LAWNMOWERS. Did you read that David Jones and Harold Leep Jr.? Stay tuned here for more information about the indoor winter series in Ada...All that I can come up with at this time. Take care and as always, "watch out for the other guy!"

October 4, 10:30 pm...Welp, one race track down and several more to go to end their season as SFS winter nationals over the weekend seemed to be a success. Really good racing and an Oklahoma/Texas rivalry one week earlier. Two problems however. The crowd should've/wouldv'e been better and the lack of coverage by the Daily Oklahoman was a slap in the face to all of us race fans. This COULD change, however, during the winter and for the 2005 race season...Things that we did learn? If not for Sellers breaking in Friday nights prelim, don't think Kenneth Walker could have passed him. The young guns in the sprinters: Whit Gastineau, Joe Wood Jr., Cody Whitworth, Chris Burns, Gary Owens, Bud Johnson, Taron Bean, Strike Hill, Jake Martens and even David Lee Lambert - who suffered mechanical woes all weekend, make the next several seasons bright for both the super sprinters and champ sprinters. Don't take it wrong if I forgot to mention you please...Joe Wood Sr. informs everything shall remain the same for the 2005 season - as of now...David Lambert Sr. informs that son David Lee has several directions he could turn but nothing planned as of yet. Both fathers and the others have informed they will email me their absolute plans once they decide what they are going to do...Fact, Chris Burns IS the real deal...Brought back bad memories for me and a couple of others to see the former HMD #0 sprinter pulled out of the weeds for Saturday nights competition. James Fabians flip destroyed his car so they brought out the black sprinter which someone quoted "was the best that car ever ran!"...Frank Dittman also destroyed his sprinter Friday night and was a no-show Saturday night...Just as those young guys are the up and coming future in the sprinters, Justin Allen is the real deal in Factory Stocks. Smooth and clean...With Terry Hollands Winter nationals victory in the pro stock division, could that be the last we see of him in a full-bodied race car? In only his third race behind the wheel of a sprint car, Terry qualified for the super sprint feature and finished ninteenth...They have not heard yes but they have not heard no but it sounds like the Strawn racing stable will all return for the 2005 season with nothing changed...Look for first SFS track practice to be held Sunday, March 7th of 2005 with the Spring Nationals expected to begin the last weekend of March. The rules for the super sprinters, champ sprints and USA modifieds for 2005 will remain unchanged for next year but there will be some changes made to the pro stocks and factory stocks...Most amusing quote during Saturdays drivers meeting? "Don't forget the World of Outlaws will be here October 15th and will run on the half mile. The only things we are going to do is take the hump out of turn three, fix the guardrail and mow the grass for them." There is virtually no dirt left on the half mile and the guardrail is in very poor shape. The USA modifieds will be the support class and will compete for $750 to win...Here is an interesting fact that happened over the weekend. Josh Forshee, son of the late Jeff Forshee of Wichita Kansas, was the head wrench behind winning All-Star Circuit of Champions sprinter drivin by Jeremy Campbell at Eldora over the weekend. Also, OKC's own Travis Bickel was the headwrench (or whatever they call them in that series) for former WoO competitor James Chesson in the Infiniti Pro Series race in California. What is the main connection both of these head wrenches have in common? Both are former Larry Neighbors wrenchs within the past five years...Another crew chief connection to the state of sorts. The son of Kenny Woodruff is now the head wrench for Wayne Johnson and the FATFRO race team, who competed this weekend in Eldora...Welp, there will be a new NCRA outlaw champion for 2005 as Brooke Tatnell has accepted a ride to run the full WoO schedule and departing with Court Grandstaff. Don't bother calling Court, however, as he informed he will make no desicion until well after the season is complete. They will run the WoO races here in OKC, Wichita and Mississippi before calling it their final season together...Upcoming races in the near future include a $3000 to win special for IMCA modifieds at Lake Country Speedway in Ardmore on October 21-23 during the Halloween Classic. For more information contact them at (580) 3754. IMCA Stock cars, SIMS modifieds, factory stocks and mini stocks will also be in competition...Also, Clinton Speedway will host their winter nationals on November 5-7 featuring $2000 to win for the Modifieds. Pro-stock, Factory-stock and Mini-stocks will also be in competition...October 21-23 will see the NCRA/MLRA/TORA late models in competition one last time against each other at Oulaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee and will be racing for $5000 to win. The third leg of the modified challenge will also be taking place with $3000 going to the winter...I received an email from C.J. Johnson on the updated condition of his father Jon. To read this email, please refer to the "forum" section and keep Jon and his family in your thoughts and prayers...This weekend will see two winter nationals take place. Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada will host the ninth annual Oklahoma Dirt Nationals this Friday and Saturday night with $2000 going to the winner with $100 to start. Also Lawton Speedway will host their annual winter nationals this Friday and Saturday night. Right now my plans are to head to Ada on Friday night and then head to Lawton on Saturday night after the Sooners get through kickin some Beevo crap...Don't forget if your interested in placing an ad on the front page of this website or you want to place an ad in the classified ad section, shoot me an email for information...All from this end where the cool weather feels great at a racetrack and it is a sweet site to see all the pretty ladies bundled up. That is all from this end. Take care and as always, watch out for the other guy!

September 30 9:55 pm...Not earth-shattering news but some tidbits nonetheless on the eve of this weekends SFS winter nationals. Larry Neighbors text messages me to inform he is on his way to New Mexico this weekend for non-wing sprint action in SCOA competition. I know that tickles some of you but I kinda want to see him here as I have stated before, I have known Larry a long time and would like to see him race. Just my opinion however...Also spoke with Trent McCulley, who co-promoted the recent Sooner Modified Roundup and all parties involved are already making plans for the second annual Sooner Modified Roundup for the same weekend in 2005. There is talk about changing to a Thursday-Saturday night format to give all working drivers a chance to drive home on Sunday but nothing is set in stone as of yet. The purse will be at LEAST the SAME as this years with a real good chance it could be raised even higher. They will also host a two day show next Labor Day weekend as a tuneup, much as they did this year. With over 90 hotel rooms booked in the Clinton area this past weekend and the presense of Clintons Mayor in the press box, look for the Clinton Chamber of Commerce to get more involved also. Look for this event to continue not only next year but years to come...They will host a winter nationals the first weekend of November if I remember correctly. The divisions will be modifieds, pro/streets, factorys, mini stocks and I think one other division. Sprints and limited modifieds will not be on the card...Received an email from good friend and scorer from the Greenville Texas area, Jodie Weatherly, who gave me the official flyer to the October 21-23 Halloween Classic at Lake Country Speedway in Ardmore Oklahoma. The headliner is $3000 to win/$300 to start for IMCA Modifieds and $1500 to win for IMCA Stock cars. SIMS limited modifieds, factory stocks and mini stocks will also be in competition. If you would like a copy of the flyer, please email me and I send you that flyer...Don't know about you but I am pumped about this weekend. Winter national races are always great it seems and even though it means the end of race season, it generally is the sign of things to come for the next year for drivers. I will have tidbits shirts available both nights so look me up if you want one. They are $12 a piece. I would also like to meet many more of you this weekend also who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting so please look me up. As always, stay tuned here on tidbits for complete results and feature recaps and any other tidbits we can think of. All for now. Good luck to all of you and hope you all have a safe weekend both on, at or off the track

September 27 6:25 pm...The "classified ad" section has been updated with David Jones having his complete sprint car operation for sale. Check it out!!!I also have the official flyer for Greg Deatherages 17th annual racers auction, trade show and swap meet, to be held Saturday December 18th in Wichita Falls. As soon as official banner supplier and sponsor (scream graphics) does the banner it will be posted on the front page of this website up at the top where the Clinton banners were. If you want one before then, please email me and I will forward you that information...Speaking of auctions, talked to OCRS president Kenneth Walker and at this time there are no plans for another auction/swap meet in Tulsa that Kenneth and his car owner Rob Forehand has annually put on the past several years. Kenneth states the uncertain status of sprint car racing in the Tulsa area as the reason as things sound like a mess up in T-Town...Also speaking of auctions, I have a poll in the "forum" section wondering your yes or no vote about having an online auction page here on tidbits. The details can also be found there so go check it out and place your vote...Welp, the Sooner Modified Roundup is now history and by all accounts was a success. Friday night got started an hour late as drivers lined up from midday until almost racetime paying their entry fees and pit passes. With fifty-six drivers pre-entered before that day, that meant fifty-nine drivers entered on race day but it seemed to be handled very well. The late start made for a late night (1:00 AM) but with 115 cars on hand it still wasn't that bad. Kinda hard on this end as I headed that hour and a half home to post results, get up the next morning and head out around 3:00 PM to do it again with races over by midnight. Then after I helped get the scoring for the night figured out and left around 1 AM meant for another late night. My weekly Sunday breakfast with my dad at 8 AM meant coming home for a short nap, which caused me to sleep from 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM, waayy too late to make the 2:00PM start time. Although there were some snags and some unorganized moments, it was to be expected and I am sure happens at all tracks during special races. My opinion, for what its not worth, is that it was a success with veteran Jack Sullivan of Greenbriar Arkansas the big $20,000 winner with late model driver Wendall Wallace coming back from a Saturday night stint in a late model in Missouri to finish second. All total there was 121 different modified drivers from twelve states entered. The states were Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana, Iowa, Tennessee, Minnesota, California and Oregon. Quite a list if you ask me. Could it be even bigger next year? Stay tuned...You won't find this mentioned anywhere else so here it goes, congrats to 2004 SFS super sprint champion Larry Neighbors, 2004 ORA super sprint champion Danny Jennings, 2004 SFS champ sprint champion Robert Sellers, 2004 SFS USA modified champion Stanley Reed Jr., 2004 SFS factory stock champion David Rhodes and 2004 SFS pro stock champion Mark Brill. Also many thanks go out to HOOTERS and Victory Lane Graphics for their sponsorship on those five divisions they had their hand in. Speaking of Victory Lane, start making your graphic plans now and avoid the off season rush and support the business that tries support you racers at the track. Don't also forget for your welding needs to contact Alloy Specialties, your custom coatings for anything look up Bruce Jennings and Jennings Coatings, Stand on the Gas has all your Tony Stewart apparel for Christmas while Lightning Wings will do you sprint car drivers great with wings and other things. Of course another kudos to Scream Graphics on their banner/ad help here on tidbits and if your needing banners or anything graphical done, send them your business. And PLEASE when you do business with these businesses, tell them you saw them here on tidbits. It could be beneficial for both you and I...This coming weekend will see the second annual SFS Winter Nationals on Friday and Saturday night, Lake Country Speedways winter nationals, the big $3000 to win factory stock special at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee, a three day modified spectacular at 81 speedway in Wichita Kansas, NCRA 360s twice in Dodge City and Jetmore Kansas, USLMA late models at Altus Speedway, the big $7000 to win GRT Topless modifieds at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock Arkansas along with other weekly racing action continuing. Make sure you check out the "upcoming race" section of this website for more information and details. I, for one, will be here at the city for the winter nationals so stay tuned here for complete results and recaps after both nights...Still wondering what it takes to make people happy and how long it will be before I have a real job making real money - along with wondering what the heck is the meaning of my life. All for now, more soon.

September 16 8:10 pm...Really no news to report other than reminders on several special races and regular weekly races that will be held this weekend. For a look at all the track still holding regular weekly racing, check out the "upcoming race" section of this website. Specials this weekend include Friday nights USAC sprint car race at the Tulsa Fairgrounds, Saturday nights USAC Silver Crown race on the Tulsa Fairgrounds and the NCRA 360 sprinters at Enid Motor Speedway also on Saturday night. Friday night is my fifteenth wedding anniversary so I am going to have to miss races that night as we are going to make my first trip ever to Cattlemans Steak House. Saturday night I will be going to Enid for the NCRA 360 race. If your a sprint car fan and you don't want to spend alot of money watching open wheel racing, hope to see you in Enid. I know for sure that Jake Martens, Kerry McAlister and Danny Jennings will be in competition and more than likely several more from the SFS lineup...Also don't forget that the big $20,000 to win Sooner Modified Roundup at Clinton is just one week away and it WILL be held no matter what as the purse is guarenteed. B mods and SIMS modifieds will also run but will compete on Sunday afternoon only...All for this small update. PLEASE make sure you do business with all the advertisers on this website. Thanks to you all and please have a safe weekend.

September 9 4:00 pm...The "classified ad" section has been totally wiped out and will be fresh upon me receiving new items that you would either like to see or looking to buy. Remember that I am capable now of posting pictures so if you would like to send a picture along with your ad, feel free to do so. All I ask is that you think of me if you sell because of this website...Would like to welcome new tidbit sponsor "Sprintcar Exchange" owned by Wichita Falls sprint car racer Brandon Rogers. Brandon and his Sprint car Exchange is a dealer for Eagle Chassis, United Trailers and Pace American. Check out the ad and to check out his website, click on the ad and it will take you right too it. Please make sure you tell him you saw it here on "tidbits" and please support his business. Special thanks to Scream Graphics for their awesome looking ads that they do for us here at "tidbits"...The "upcoming race" section has been updated with the direct link to the payscale for next Thursday nights Open Wheel spectacular featuring two barrel sprints, micros and minis. Just click the link and it will take you right there. Also added is the entry forms for the 6th Annual GRT Topless Modified Nationals at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock Arkansas paying $7000 to win and also the entry form for the 17th Annual Short Track Nationals for ASCS type sprinters paying $15,000 to win and $1700 to start. Check out both links on the dates and please let them know you saw it here on tidbits...To order your advance WoO tickets for SFS (October 15) and Wichita (October 16) contact Wisconsin based SLS Promotions at (815) 344-2023. Remember this is NOT an Edwards promotion at SFS. General admission tickets for SFS and Wichita are $30 with Wichita reserved tickets $32, kids 6-11 is $15 and children 5 and under are free. On an advanced order basis, you can get a pit pass and grandstand combo and will cost you $35 for both tracks. A pit pass the day of race is $40. You can also get one pit pass for driver and four crew members for $25 a peice...Discount tickets for next weekends USAC Sprint car (Friday night) and USACS Silver Crown (Saturday night) races can be obtained at all Tulsa based O'Reilly Auto Parts stores. The races will be held on the fairgrounds and both should be a dandy. To find out more about both of these shows, check out their official website www.tulsafairgroundsmotorplex.com or call the office (918) 838-3777. For a couple of years now people have bitched griped and complained that there are now special races in this state anymore. Well USAC is an hour and a half away so there should be no griping, only support of these shows so that they will continue for years to come...Bobby Malchus of Orvilla Texas won last Sunday nights I-40 Super Nationals $2000 to win in the modified division at Clinton Speedway. Thirty-four drivers from four different states were represented. Drivers from Pea Ridge Arkansas (been there), Orville Texas and Eunice and Hobbs New Mexico were represented. USAC Silver Crown and Craftsman Truck regular Paul White, a former ASCS National tour winner, brother George White was on hand in Paul Cooks modified and was running strong before rearend problems ended his night. All drivers along with many others are already entered for the big $10,000 to win $1500 to start Sooner Modified Shootout scheduled for September 23-26. To see the pre-entry list updated and for pre-entry forms, go to their website at www.clintonspeedway.com. Ignore when the list was updated as it was updated as late as Wednesday afternoon. Hope you make plans to attend...Although my update a couple of weeks ago created alot of attention and got me into a bit of trouble with just a couple, the deal with who the champion is in the Super Sprint division at SFS seems to have come to a conclusion. Because a couple of friends of mine wasn't too happy with what I posted, I won't go into any other details. I will say this, however. Me being jsut a racefan and not driver, I do support the ORA whole heartedly BUT, as the case several years ago when Mike Peters wasn't recognised as the ORA super sprint champion, I feel who wins on the track is the way it should be. Mike Peters (and others) should have been then as shall Larry Neighbors now. I don't mean to ruffle feathers but those are my thoughts coming from a true race fan. When I find out what else happened during the Wednesday nights ORA meeting, I will pass it along to you here...Spoke of pre-entry forms in the upcoming race section earlier, I hope to have entry forms available here on tidbits for SFS, Lawton and Devils Bowl Winter Nationals so stay tuned here...I shall be at Lawton Speedway Saturday night for the ASCS Sooner region race. Hope to see all of you there and yes, tidbit shirts (what is left of them) will be available...All for now, more soon.

September 2 6:30 pm...Finally updated...The "Upcoming Race schedule" section has been majorly updated with ALL the racing specials scheduled for the month of September and October at ALL the Oklahoma area race tracks. This includes ALL tracks Winter Nationals...Also on Thursday night September 16th, Creek County Speedway in Kellyville will host an Open Wheel Spectacular featuring non-wing two barrel sprints, non-wing micros and non-wing minis. This is a tune-up for the big USAC Sprint/Silver Crown weekend at the Tulsa Fairgrounds...Also, the World of Outlaws will be at 81 Speedway in Wichita Kansas on October 16th, the night after they are here at State Fair Speedway. Both tracks are being rented by one of Craig Dollanskys car owners and the SFS is NOT an Edwards promotion and the Wichita race is NOT a C Ray Hall promotion. Kicker to these dates? There is nothing going on during the Friday night WoO race here at SFS but on Saturday night the Sprint Bandits and the ASCS Sooner region/Gulf South region will be at Devils Bowl while the WoO sprinters will be at Wichita. Ah heck go check out the directory for more information...There was other news but it escapes me at the moment...I do want to say THANK YOU to all sponsors on this website. They include Scream Graphics who is doing all my banners and ads and do an excellent job, Alloy Specialties who do alot of welding work, Stand on the Gas with lots of shirts and souvenirs which will be great for Christmas, Jennings Powder Coatings for all your powder coating needs, Victory Lane Graphics who do excellent work with decals, banners, etc. and also Lightning Wings. Robert Sellers is a dealer for here in the OKC area so you sprint car drivers PLEASE buy your wings from him. PLEASE support these sponsors and make sure you tell them you saw their ad here on tidbits...Friday night (tomorrow) will see me at SFS for the ASCS Sooner region race. Then I will head to Ada for a hamburger from the burger girl along with somemore ASCS Sooner region action. On Sunday it will be back here at SFS for the season finale. I WILL have my tidbits shirts with me all three days so if you wanna buy a shirt, look me up or email me asap and tell me what size you want and where to find you...Also don't forget that this weekend is the big $2000 to win for modifieds at Clinton Speedway. Please check the banners at the top of this page for all upcoming special races as they contain information...Oh and if you see a race your interested in in the upcoming race section and no details are there, go to the "Oklahoma Track Directory" and find that track and click on their website. It will tell you more...All for now, more laters and please have a safe holiday weekend wherever you may be.

August 27 1:20 AM...Just some quick little "tidbits" of racing news that I have learned the past day or so...The Economy Modifieds (E-MODS) have been added to Clinton Speedways Sooner Modified Round-up which will pay the modified winner $20,000. The E-Mods will use the SIMS rules that run down in Texas. If I remember correctly, co-promoter Trent McCulley said the winner of the E-Mod feature will earn $500. The class will run on the Sunday finale only...Jeff Autrys strong run and feature win, couple with Michael Reeds motor problems in his heat and failure to qualify out of the B feature, has move Autry into second in USA Modified point standings. Stanley Reed Jr. has the championship wrapped up...And finally, next year there will be a new driver in the super sprint division. Defending pro stock champion Terry Holland has purchased some of the late Ken Whitehouse old sprint chassis and other parts and will compete in the super sprint division full time next year at SFS. Terry hopes to have the sprinter completed and race ready for upcoming specials here at SFS and at Tulsa with the motor out of his pro stock to run in the champ sprint division to get seat time. Good luck to you Terry and welcome to the world of sprint car racing...There is said to be a second generation driver also moving up from micros to sprint cars next year but waiting for confirmation on that rumor. I understand the kid is thirteen years old...Don't know where I am headed Saturday but more than likely somewheres. ASCS Sooner region co-ordinator Dennis Crow says if weather cancels tomorrow nights ASCS Sooner region race at Tulsa Speedway, he will give me a call and I will post it in the forum section. Remember people are good about posting weather cancelations in the forum so keep checking there for answers...All for now, more later.

August 24 1:15 pm...The "classifed ad" section has been added to with a dwarf car for sale in the "misc." section and a sprint car roller from JD Porter for sale. Check out that section and remember, I am now (I think) able to post pictures of the item(s) that you have for sale. All I ask on everything is that if you sell it because of my website to think of me. The norm seems to be 10% of what they make but it is not necessary but would be appreciative...Spoke to Cody Brewer who has pioloted the #59x super sprinter normally drivin by Rick Brill at SFS the past couple of weekends and he informed me that he was asked to race it a couple of times and relay it to the Brills if the car was setup okay and to relay any other information that he could. Cody told me that last Friday night may have been his last night in the car and that Rick should be back in the car this Friday night...If a certain champ sprint driver gets certain injector parts and springs for his backup sprinter, look for this driver to do double duty on Friday night and should be fast if all goes well...Due to a blown motor a couple months ago, the Ernie Messmer #11 sprinter normally drivin by Wayne Johnson and Robert Sellers is parked for the rest of the year...Congrats to Michelle Decker on her first ever injected sprint car win last Friday night in her rookie season in that division...Chris Burns continues to impress in both his family owned super sprinter and the Glen Tidwell owned champ sprinter. Chris is currently fourth in point standings in both divisions...IF Larry Neighbors goes on and wins the SFS super sprint championship, amazingly it will be the first championship that he has won outright. Larry shared the 1995 NCRA 360 championship with Kirby Hagens and is the only championship that he has won since he started in sprint car racing back in 1988. Larry also sits second in the super sprint division at the Devils Bowl. Good luck Larry...Speaking of the Neighbors camp, Travis Bickel, who spent the past four years as crew chief for Larry before quitting a couple months ago, is now working on the crew of an Infiniti Pro Series team based in Indy...Although it isn't over until Sunday afternoon, September 5, it looks as though Stanley Reed Jr. has secured the 2004 SFS USA Modified points championship as he holds a 750 point lead over brother Michael Reed. Also in his quest for two championships, Stanley is a mere 20 points ahead of defending pro stock champion Terry Holland in point standings...Also spoke to Tim Allen, former factory stock champion at SFS who moved up to the Pro Stock division this year, and I may be behind in news but he has been sidelined the past couple of weeks due to surgery on his back. Although wife Clara basically says "like hell", Tim wants to be back racing within the next couple of weeks despite what she or the doctor says. Tim was as smooth in his pro stock as he was in his factory stock and was really fun to watch. Tims brother Larry has been pioloting his pro stock while his son Justin won his first career factory stock feature this past friday night and currently sits third in that divisions point standings...Wayne Johnson was in town this past weekend taking a break from his Knoxville weekly racing action as the track had the weekend off. Wayne has locked up second in Knoxvilles weekly points with their last points race coming up this coming Saturday night. The contract with FATFRO ends on the 30th of August but it looks as though he will be back to pilot the #14AJ for the rest of this season and next year full-time with the WoO. If things go according to plan look for them to run the Williams Grove Open and follow the rest of the WoO tour til seasons end...Good luck to SFS pro stock and modified driver Greg Barnhart as he will be trying to qualify the #89 Panelite car this weekend in ASA competition at the Milwaukee Mile in Wisconsin. The race will be shown live on Speedchannel begining at 3:00 pm Sunday afternoon. Good luck Greg!!!In case you missed it, the scheduled ASCS Sooner region/ Gulf South region challenge race for this past Saturday night at the Devils Bowl was rained out and will be made up on October 16th. That will be the same weekend as the new Sprint Bandit season finale so there should be plenty of sprinters on hand that weekend. Also don't forget that one week after that is the ASCS National tour finale at the Devils Bowl along with that tracks winter nationals for their weekly divisions -including the super sprints, champ sprints and USA modifieds...The race season is quickly coming to a close sad to say...Now news from Franklin Motor Speedway in Meeker as I went there Saturday night and met good friend Chris Smith (NCRA Late model director of competition) to watch the $600 to win modified special. Twenty-four modifieds were on hand an - shame on you OKC locals - as only two from the city (Johnny Reed and Rick Goforth) showed up. I know the track has had problems with the holes coming out of turn four but there were no problems on this night as the racing surfact was smooth. Tulsas' LeRoy Cook Jr. won the twnety-five lap feature, taking the lead on lap thirteen from Ho Dean...Chris Roach was on hand in the hobby stock division and took the lead on lap seventeen of the twenty lap feature and looked to be on his way to victory, only to be taken out by one of the local drivers. Lloyd "just how many Buntins are there" Buntin II then inherited the lead and led the final three laps for the victory. Nobody has heard from or can find Franklin Motor Speedways webmaster (and motorsportnews.com webmaster) Jeff Toney, so if your from Meeker and want results and point standings, keep it here as we will have them posted as soon as we get them. I am also in the works of possibly hosting their website for them so stay tuned here. For you other drivers, if it has been most of the year since you have been there, go back and support the Franklins as they are trying to put on a good program for both fans and drivers...Don't forget this coming Saturday night the ASCS Sooner region will be at Tulsa Speedway. Also this coming Friday night the ASCS National tour will be at Paris Texas then travel to Little Rocks I-30 Speedway on Saturday night. Don't forget the ASCS Sooner region will be at SFS next Friday night September 3rd before heading down to Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada for a Saturday night showdown. August 12 4:50 pm...Sorry been so long without an update but the days seem to fly when your busy...Last Friday night caught one of the best weekly racing shows at SFS in some time. The track was in real good shape, no hate and discontent on or off the track and really good - exciting racing. Here are a couple of notes from last Friday night. Driver Greg Barnhart and car owner Gary Stephens, who owns the number 14 pro stock at SFS on Friday nights, have parted ways. Greg has purchased one of Randy Timms' late models that he drove last year at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee and has also bought one of Timms's modifieds. Greg will debut the car tomorrow (Friday night) at SFS but will not have the new body on as of yet. Greg has spent his weekends doing other racing and was even going to debut in ASA full-bodied competition at Pikes Peak until that race got cancelled. Current SFS USA Modified pilot Robert Jones piloted the Stephens owned Pro Stock Friday night and finished a respectable ninth. Robert currently sits eighth in the modified division points...Also changing rides for a night was Choctaws Cody Brewer, who was in Nicoma Parks Mark Brill owned Super Sprinter normally drivin by son Rick. Cody finished fifth in his heat race and fifteenth in the feature finale...Also, car owner Glen Tidwell, who owns the number 99 Champ Sprinter driven by division rookie Chris Burns, did not buy one of Danny Jennings Eagles that he had for sale. He had sold one to Michelle Decker and Fort Supplies Kirby Wagner (NCRA 360 regular) but Glen decided not to make the purchase. Danny has switched to Maxims. Speaking of super sprint division rookie and champ sprint hot shoe Burns, spoke to his father Friday night before the races and was told the car just seem to lose it's handling towards the end of the twenty lap features and developed a bad push but when he had the big ASCS top wing on for that race it performed much better. The team must have got things ironed out as Chris motored his way into a convincing Super Sprint victory for his second of the season...From what I can gather from him, Stanley Reed Jr. is still mulling over hot lapping Tony Poes super sprinter one friday night. He still isn't too sure he wants too but gathering from all the attention he received after I posted here, I think it would be a real good attention graber on his part...You really got to feel good for champ sprint driver James Schnorr who drives the number 6J sprinter. James is one of the low low buck racers who struggles just to make it to the track week in and week out. A couple of weeks ago James won a heat race and last Friday night won the B feature. Here is hoping for even better success in the final weeks of weekly racing...On Saturday night, I made the last minute decision to head to I-44 Speedway for the second annual Oklahoma Mini-Sprint Nationals and what a good move I feel that it was. One hundred and forty-five cars signed in for the two day affair, just twenty short of what a NMMA event would have. The racing was smooth and exciting and got over approximately 10:30 pm. Among the notables in attendance were former fourteen time Tulsa Speedway champion Donnie Crawford and his son, Donnie Ray Crawford. Donnie Ray was the winner in the limited division. Seth Sleeper won the kid sprint feature while Josh Pickle won the "A" class, Larry Wickham the Turf Tires, Gray Marcham III the restrictors and Holly Holland the multis. For complete results from this past weekends Oklahoma Mini-Sprint Nationals, make sure you check out their website at www.1-44speedway.com...For the first time in a couple of years, I will be making my trip down to Lawton for a weekly show, my first ever Lawton weekly show - oh by the way. I will have my "Oklahomatidbits.com" shirts with me so if you want one, email me your name and size and where to find you. If you want one at the last minute when I am at the track, I will be wearing it throughout the pits and the stands...Other racing going on this weekend besides the normal weekly racing include the following: The non-wing mini-sprint nationals at Port City in Tulsa on Friday and Saturday night, SUPR Late Models at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock on Saturday night, USST Super Trucks at Altus Motor Speedway on Saturday night, OCRS sprinters at Salina Highbanks Speedway on Saturday night and the Ford Focus Midgets will be at Tulsa Speedway on Friday night. You can get free tickets at any one of the seven Ford Dealerships in Tulsa...Speaking of Tulsa, PLEASE don't forget the non-wing SCRA sprinters next Wednesday night at Tulsa Speedway with racing set to begin at 7:00 PM. Please help pack the place and go watch the California non-wing sprinters hopefully put on a great show. I know I plan on being there. Also running in conjunction with SCRA will be the two barrel sprinters with the purse to be announced. Please pass this along and make your plans to attend...Speaking of OCRS and two barrels, the OCRS sprinters will NOT be at Clinton Speedway during the I-40 Super Nationals during Labor Day weekend due to low car counts in previous races. New clay, helped by the city of Clinton, is now being put on the high-banked three-eighths mile oval and will be completed in time for the I-40 Super Nationals, high-lighted by the $2000 to win for the modifieds. It will be a tune-up for the September 23-26 Sooner Modified Roundup paying $20,000 to win and $1500 to start. For more information on the I-40 Super Nationals and the Sooner Modified roundup, make sure you check out their website at www.clintonmotorsportspark.com. Don't forget the $200 pre-entry deadline for the Sooner Nationals is September 1st and then it will be $250 for pre-entry...And finally, don't forget this Saturday night from 8:00 pm til midnight that Speedchannel will broadcast LIVE the Knoxville Nationals...All for this update. See you tomorrow night at SFS (with t-shirts for sale) and at Lawton on Saturday night.

August 2 8:00 pm...The "classified ad" section has been updated with a modified roller for sale...Also the "upcoming race" section has been added to with all the race and special races scheduled for August listed, finally. Remember for more race information at the tracks, go to the "Oklahoma Track Directory" and find the track you want information on and click the link on the right hand side of that column. Speaking of special races, just one more month and all the tracks will start holding year-end special races so to get the word out about these shows, you promoters need to start getting the word out now. If you would like to place a banner for the front page of this website, shoot me an email for information...Among the races that are schedule
