Little DCRP Season Finale on Sunday!

 

Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (September 12, 2019) – The inaugural season of Micro Sprint and Kart competition atop the 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval at Dodge City Raceway Park wraps up with this Sunday afternoon’s season finale.

 

Sunday’s racing action gets under way with hot laps at 3:15 p.m. with the green flag flying upon the first heat race at 4:00 p.m.

 

Following on the heels of Saturday night’s Seventh Annual Jerry Soderberg Memorial Championship event atop the 3/8-mile clay, Sunday’s Little DCRP season finale features a full card of Micro Sprint divisions including Winged “A” Class, Non-Wing “A” Class, Restricted “A” Class and Junior Sprints (Novice and Advanced) along with Go Karts (Junior and Adult) and Open Outlaw Go Karts.

 

Pit Gates open at 1:00 p.m.  The draw for heat race starting position will begin at 2:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. with hot laps getting under way at 3:15 p.m.

 

Restricted “A” Class competitor Trey Zorn remains as the last undefeated racer with six feature wins in as many tries after Deekan McRoberts (Novice Junior Sprint) streak of five wins in a row was snapped last time out by Brody Caldwell.

 

Zorn and McRoberts hold the lead in their respective points chases with other current points leaders going into the finale including Tanner Johnson (Winged “A” Class), Zak Moore (Non-Winged “A” Class), Keenan Hernadez (Advanced Junior Sprints), Gage Robertson (Adult Karts), Caleb Berthof (Junior Karts) and Caleb Crockett (Open Outlaw Karts).

 

General admission to the grandstands is just $10 with children 11 and under admitted free.  Pit passes are $20.

 

In total, the 2019 season atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval is slated for 18 nights of action along with another eight Sunday cards atop the newly-constructed 1/7-mile Little DCRP clay oval.
