Championship Night this Saturday at Dodge City Raceway Park!
Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (September 11, 2018) – It all comes down to Saturday night at Dodge City Raceway Park.
A full season of racing action atop the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas culminates with Saturday night’s Sixth Annual Jerry Soderberg Memorial Championship event at Dodge City Raceway Park.
Saturday’s card that goes green at 7:00 p.m. marks the final round of championship chase action for each of the track’s five divisions including the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks. The Sprint Car portion of the night will pit the DCRP Sprint Cars versus the United Rebel Sprint Series (URSS).
While Saturday’s event brings a conclusion to the championship chases at DCRP, another pair of post-season events are still on the track’s calendar including the BMI Racing Products Dodge City 200 Enduro on September 22 and then the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series on Saturday, October 20.
A handful of drivers lead the way in their respective championship chases going into Saturday’s action including Liberal’s Steven Richardson (DCRP Sprint Cars), Rolla’s Nick Link (IMCA Modifieds), Woodward, Oklahoma’s Jeff Kaup (IMCA Sport Modifieds), Bazine’s Dusty Witthuhn (IMCA Stock Cars) and Bucklin’s Reagan Sellard (IMCA Hobby Stocks).
The closest battle for top honors going into the Soderberg Memorial Championship event is in the Sprint Car ranks with Richardson just 17 points ahead of Dodge City’s Brian Herbert.
The IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Stock Cars are still up for grabs as well with Link just 22 points head of Kevin Gray in the Modified title chase and Witthuhn only 20 points ahead of Chris Oliver in the Stock Car chase.
Kaup has already secured his fifth IMCA Sport Modified track championship in six years while Reagan Sellard can put away his second consecutive IMCA Hobby Stock title by merely making an appearance.
Along with the championship battles, positions throughout the top ten in each division are on the line on Saturday night as well.

General admission for Saturday’s Sixth Annual Jerry Soderberg Memorial Championship at DCRP is just $20 with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
