Not really much in the way of tidbits that I have so I will give a brief on what is on tap in and around the state of Oklahoma racing this weekend.
Just got word that Brent Swift is selling out his sprint car operation and is done....
Don't forget that NASCAR veteran Kenny Schrader will be at Elk Citys I-40 Speedway on Friday night for the $1000 to win weekly modified show. Gates open at 4:00 PM with racing set for 7:00 PM. That is tomorrow night (Friday). A text from defending NCRA modified south champion Gene Weaver states that he, Dee, Jeremy and Zach Gossett along with Nathan Bischel and Jaymon Gregory will be at Elk City for this show.
This Friday night will be the third and looks like successfull attempt for racing at the historic Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee on the famed half mile dirt oval. The modifieds will race for $1000 to win. While the covered grandstands are off limits, there are grandstands set up just in front of the old one and the front stretch with plenty of seating and space. Racing starts at 7:00 PM.
Outlaw Motor Speedway will be back in Whelen NASCAR sanctioned action once again this Friday night paying $1000 to win for modifieds during the Azalea Nationals: along with a mini stock mania. Gates open at 5:00 PM with racing action at 7:30 PM.
Part of double duty weekend as the Outlaw will host a $1000 to win April Fools 100 Enduro. This gives you a Sunday show to complete your three day race weekend.
The Lucas Oil ASCS presented by K&N Filters will be back in action this weekend with a double dip. The first night will be at Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, Texas before heading to one of the best sprint car tracks around, I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas. Over forty cars are almost a certain. Stay tuned here for official press releases from ASCS via www.ascsracing.com.
The O'Reilly/NCRA sprint car division kicks off their 2010 race season on Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas. I will be there for certain to cover this event for NCRA. Catch my results then full write up here on tidbits and on www.ncraracing.org.
The World of Outlaws sprint car series is back in Oklahoma!!!! This coming Saturday night at Ttri-State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma (Fort Smith), see Jason Myers, Steve and Kraig Kinser, Jac Haudenschild, Kasey Kahne and at least maybe twenty-five more for the WoO sprint cars first ever appearance at Tri-State Speedway.

Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker will be back in weekly racing action on Saturday night with their regular season points race. Don't forget that you sport mod drivers ought to show up to get your setups ready for the O'Reilly/NCRA southern modified show there on April 24th. Also running will be the modifieds, pro/streets, mini stocks and economy sprints. Gates open at 5:00 PM with racing at 7:00 PM.
Averaging about 21 modifieds, with half from Oklahoma and half of Texas, a night the past two weekends, Lake Country Speedway in Ardmore will continue their Saturday night weekly racing. Travis Penrod won last weekends modified feature. Also running are the IMCA southern sport mods, hobby stocks, factory stocks, mini stocks and tornados. Action starts at 7:30 PM I do believe.
Wild West Speedway in Clinton will be back racing with $1000 to win for modifieds along with regional points races for the IMCA southern sport mods, IMCA factory stocks, IMCA hobby stocks and IMCA sport compacts. Don't forget that Friday night will see the mini sprints, go karts and quads in competition on the small track. Yes that is this Friday night (tomorrow) with the big cars racing on Saturday night. Racing starts at 8:00 PM.
Enid Speedway Park will be back in weekly racing action this Saturday night as well. While the champ sprints won't be racing there this weekend, make it a plan to catch some racing in Enid. Modifieds, sport modifieds, street stocks, factory stocks and pure stocks are the divisions of choice. Racing action starts at 7:00 PM.
After a successful practice tonight (Thursday) since the new confiruration and remodeling of the facility, Creek County Speedway in Kellyville will open up their weekly racing season this coming Saturday night. There were 65 cars in the pit area for practice and all seemed to have gone very well from what I am hearing. There were 17 champ sprints and at least 7 modifieds just for practice. Hopefully new promoter Jackie Green will be interested in purchasing a track ad here on tidbits so you readers can get even more information on what is going on at the newly configured track. Look for results here from John Rittenoure.
After a successfull Ryan Craighead Memorial last weekend, I-44 Speedway in South Oklahoma City will be in action on Saturday night. Again, if you know the Birkleys then inform them of tidbits to get them interested in placing a track ad here.
Other tracks running this Saturday night in and close to Oklahoma include Siloam Springs Speedway in West Siloam and Mid-America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. Borth tracks run on Saturday nights.
